Workshops
Our workshops this year explored how to cope with a world of constant change. Attendees joined us for two of the sessions, which provided the tools and techniques to build resilience, and improve collaboration and connection.
Mastering Uncertainty: Transforming a Negative To a Positive
Technology is transforming not just the global business landscape but also how we live and interact as a society. How do we cope with such constant change and build resilience within ourselves and our teams? Based on insights from a groundbreaking interdisciplinary experiment, Sam’s workshop shared how to increase ‘uncertainty tolerance’, and proved why it’s a key skill for writing the future. Backed by Netflix, built with UCL, and beta-tested by firms such as Apple, Lego and Google, this session gave attendees the chance to discover their own uncertainty tolerance level and provided practical takeaways for improving collaboration, connection, problem-solving and more.

The Improv Mindset
In improv theatre, actors use suggestions from the audience to create spontaneous stories, sketches and songs. Its roots are in1920s Chicago when a social worker created games to help under-privileged children to enhance their communication skills. Later it became a form of theatre, from which many actors and writers emerged, not least the stars of ‘Saturday Night Live’. Attending this highly interactive and fun workshop gave us many transferable skills, from collaborating with others to answering questions in a pitch. Not only did our interpersonal skills improve, but also our ability as a leader navigating an uncertain world.
