Chair of 3 B2B SaaS firms, operating partner/board advisor for 2 more + advisor/angel in others. I have been involved with many successful scaleups & transformations with 4 exits including acquisition of Unit4 for $2bn+ in 2021.
Started coding as a teenager before studying Computer Science. Spent 10 years at Accenture learning how to look after clients and to run complex projects and sales campaigns. Loved it.
Became a headhunter and spent 16 years @ Russell Reynolds helping 200+ technology firms and investors to build their leadership teams and boards. Loved that too.
Then brought all my experience together as CEO of SaaS HR business Fairsail taking it from 13 people to 200+ in 4 years. Raised angel funding & growth capital before acquisition by Sage plc for £115m cash (12x rev).
Built and led an amazing team which won many customers and awards along the way, super proud of what we achieved together.
Wrote "Lobster Tales" to tell the ScaleUp story and to describe a framework of Purpose; Focus; Customers for Life; Innovation and Team which I use with companies I am involved with.
Decided to go plural for more variety and flexibility. I was full-time employed by 3 firms in a 30 years executive career.I have a focus on doing things right first time and building long term trusted relationships.
