"Cash not croissants: Making the difference to funding female-led businesses"*
*We can’t take credit for this title - we saw it on LinkedIn and loved it. There will also be croissants…
Fact: female-led businesses find it so much harder to raise money. Yet up to £250 billion of new value could be added to the UK economy if women started and scaled new businesses at the same rate as men. At Boardwave, we are committed to supporting female founders on their funding journey, to make sure that great businesses get the investment they need to succeed. And we believe this starts from the bottom up - with angel funding, and increasing the number of active female angels.
It’s about cash not croissants. Our aim is to make in-person connections to get more women involved in the funding of software businesses. We are gathering Boardwave’s vibrant female community to share learnings on all aspects of early stage investment – from career angels and entrepreneurs-turned-angels - to founders who have successfully raised angel investment or those who are looking to raise.
Whether you are new to investing, a seasoned angel or a founder wanting to understand more about the drivers and avenues for angel investment, please join us to:
- Hear from seasoned investors on their process, what they look for in a pitch deck, and the highs and lows of their angel journey.
- Find out more about growing angel investment syndicates, platforms and investment ecosystems.
- Discuss policy developments and trends that are impacting the landscape for women investment.
- Meet with founders and investors with mentoring sessions and time for networking.
