Franz-Josef Seidensticker

Having spent 30 years at Bain & Company, Franz-Josef held several senior and distinguished roles during this time, including: core member of Bain’s global Board of Directors, Managing Director of Bain Germany/CH for 10 years, a senior member of the firm’s executive team in EMEA, and Chairman of Bain EMEA Emerging Markets.

He played a key role in helping Bain reposition in the German/Swiss market and during his tenure as Managing partner Bain significantly outgrew its’ competitors and established itself as a co-leader in the premium consulting space.

Franz-Josef built a reputation as a trusted advisor to CEOs, senior management teams, and Supervisory Boards of leading, global companies in the software, technology, telecommunications, and industrial tech space with a focus on strategic transformations and growth.

After stepping down as a full-time partner from Bain & Company in 2012 and moving to an Advisory role, Franz-Josef has focused his activities on creating value in Private Equity owned companies in software and in Industrial Tech.

He actively worked with Bregal Unternehmerkapital as the Chairman of proAlpha until the successful sale to Intermediate Capital Group in 2017 and continues to be deeply involved as a Chairman and NED respectively since then.

Additionally, Franz-Josef held the role of Chairman of the Minimax Viking Group (Ik Investment, Intermediate Capital Group, Kirkbi) and is currently the Chairman of Communardo Group.

In parallel, he advises a number of financial institutions on their digital and cloud strategies, holding roles such as Chair of Unicredit’s/HVB Digital Advisory Board.

Franz-Josef studied economics at the University of Paderborn and at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of St. Gallen. He lives in Munich.
