Joel is the Founder and former CEO Sana, a leading artificial intelligence company that has raised over $80M to change how the world shares and accesses knowledge. Sana was acquired by Workday in Sept 2025. An enterprising child, Joel taught himself to code in C at age 13 and founded his first company, a video recommendation technology, at 16.
He topped the list of Forbes 30 under 30 for his work on advancing machine learning and recently The Guardian named Joel in the top 10 of under 35’s changing the world for the better.
